40 Nigerians evacuated from Sudan Arrive in Kano

Forty Nigerians who were evacuated from Sudan arrived at the Aminu Kano International Airport on Tuesday, October 30, 2024.
 
The returnees, comprising adults, children, and infants, were received by officials from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), and other relevant agencies.
 
No medical emergencies were reported among the returnees at the time of arrival, according to NEMA. 
 
The evacuation effort was a collaborative initiative involving NEMA, IOM, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), and the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).
 
Other agencies involved in the operation include the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
