Adamawa Deputy Governor Farauta Vows Support for Women Journalists

Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, has pledged the state government’s unwavering support for women journalists in the state.

During a courtesy visit by the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Professor Farauta commended the journalists for their professionalism.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to NAWOJ for their dedication, especially in the face of global challenges,” she said.

“As a media-friendly government, we will stand by you and collaborate closely.”

She emphasised the state’s commitment to inclusivity. “Our state values inclusivity, ensuring everyone is carried along,” she said.

“We are committed to creating an enabling work environment for all.”

Professor Farauta, herself a woman, pledged continued support for women in the state. “As a woman, I will continue to support women in every way I can,” she affirmed.

She also tasked the journalists to maintain professionalism in their duties. “Ensure professionalism in discharging your duties,” she urged.

Earlier, NAWOJ State Coordinator, Rose Anthony Elishama, praised the state government’s developmental strides.

“We appreciate the remarkable progress made under Governor Fintiri’s leadership,” she said.

She requested continued support for NAWOJ to enhance their advocacy for women journalists.

“We seek collaborative relationships to strengthen our role in promoting transparency and accountability,” Elishama stated.

She assured the Deputy Governor of NAWOJ’s dedication to quality service, reinforcing the vital role of journalism in a vibrant democracy.
