Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has been unanimously selected as the Africa Man of the Year by the Africa Women Global Community in recognition of his commitment to gender equality and empowerment.
In a letter to the Governor by the Women in Africa for Transformation Initiative, it acknowledges Governor Fintiri’s remarkable achievements in promoting women’s representation and opportunities in Adamawa State.
Notably, his administration boasts a female deputy governor, a female chief judge, and all 21 local government chairpersons are women.
The Africa Woman of the Year Awards, a renowned international award committee, recognised Governor Fintiri’s outstanding contributions to gender equality and empowerment.
The award ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, September 7th, 2024, in Lagos.
This prestigious honour solidifies Governor Fintiri’s position as a champion of gender equality and a role model for African leaders. His commitment to empowering women has created a ripple effect, inspiring positive change across the continent.
