Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reiterated his administration’s commitment to revoking all government lands illegally occupied or encroached upon by individuals and organisations.
The Governor stated this while responding to journalists in an interview after inspecting government facilities and projects undertaken by his administration in the state.
Governor Fintiri expressed dismay over the illegal occupation of the agency’s land.
“I am out because, in 2019, I revoked this land, and now people have taken it upon themselves again to go ahead and forcefully develop these lands,” Governor Fintiri said.
“We will either convert these lands to government property or remove them completely and put up structures that will look like an office where our youth, who will be employed, will work.”
The Governor emphasised that the revocation of illegally occupied lands is crucial to ensure that government assets are utilized for the benefit of the public.
Governor Fintiri also expressed satisfaction with the progress of other government projects, including the state-of-the-art laboratory complex at the State Specialist Hospital, the Adamawa State Health Supplies Management Agency, and the model primary school in Jimeta.
“These projects, which are near completion, with some already completed, are meant to close the gap and address the health and educational needs of the citizens,” the Governor stated.
