Adamawa Gov’t Approves N8.8bn For Education, Security & Projects

The Adamawa State Executive Council, today, November 20, 2025, approved over N8.8 billion for major development projects aimed at upgrading education, bolstering security, and improving environmental services across the state.

The approvals were made at the 24th Executive Council Meeting, presided over by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

Briefing journalists after the meeting, Commissioner for Information and Strategy James Iliya confirmed that the funds cut across critical sectors that directly impact citizens’ lives.

A major highlight is the N4.66 billion approved for the upgrade of the Mega Science Secondary School in Gulak into a full-fledged College of Technological and Innovation Entrepreneurship Studies. This contract involves ten civil works to be completed in four months.

Other key approvals include:

Security: N1.63 billion was approved for the renovation of staff quarters at the Mubi Army Barracks.

Education: Over N507 million was approved for the construction of two electromechanical workshops at Lamurde Mega Science Secondary School, along with an additional N449.1 million for perimeter fencing at the same school.

Environmental Services: N264.1 million was approved for the purchase of two Eurodome tipper trucks to enhance sanitation in Yola.

Commissioner Iliya noted that Governor Fintiri has directed all supervising ministries to ensure that contractors “deliver quality work within the approved timelines.”
