Adamawa Police Arrests Herbalist For Alleged Ritual Killing of 11-Year-Old Boy

The Adamawa State Police Command has commenced investigation into the alleged ritualistic death and mutilation of an 11-year-old boy in Kodomun village, Demsa Local Government Area. 

SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, Police Public Relations Officer, Adamawa State Police Command, disclosed in a statement on Sunday that police have arrested a herbalist identified as Murtala Musa in connection with the incident.

SP Nguroje disclosed that the case was reported to the police in Demsa on April 13, 2025, by the village head of Kodomun and the victim’s mother, Fancy Alifas. 

She reported that her son, Yangapwa David, 11, was taken to the herbalist for treatment but died while in his care.

According to the mother’s account, arrangements were made to transport the body home, and the corpse was left in the herbalist’s room temporarily.

Upon her return, she made the shocking discovery that her son’s left eye had been removed.

Following the report, police operatives swiftly visited the scene and apprehended the suspect, Murtala Musa.

The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Dankombo Morris, has assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ensure justice is served.

The suspect remains in custody, and the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has been assigned to carry out a discreet inquiry into the matter.
