Adamawa Police Launch Investigation into Destructive Communal Clash

Commissioner Deploys Security, Vows Justice for Lamza and Kawa Communities

Adamawa State Police Commissioner, CP Dankombo Morris, has ordered a full-scale investigation into a destructive communal clash that erupted in the Lamza and Kawa communities of Guyuk on Thursday, 14th March, 2025.

The incident, which resulted in significant property damage, has prompted a swift response from the state’s law enforcement.

CP Morris, expressing his profound dismay at the “unfortunate and needless” loss of property, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), to spearhead a “detailed and comprehensive” inquiry.

“We are deeply saddened by the events that unfolded in Lamza and Kawa,” stated CP Morris in a press release issued by Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje.

“Such acts of violence are unacceptable, and we are committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice.”

In a bid to restore calm and prevent further escalation, the commissioner has deployed a significant security presence to the affected areas. “Our priority is to ensure the safety and security of all residents,” he emphasised.

“We have deployed adequate personnel to maintain order and prevent any further disturbances.”

The police boss has given clear instructions to the deployed officers to “immediately bring perpetrators to book” as normalcy has since been restored.

CP Morris reassured the Adamawa State Government and the residents of Guyuk that the police are determined to ensure that justice is served.

“The people of Adamawa deserve to live in peace and security,” he affirmed. “We will not rest until those responsible for this violence are held accountable.”

The investigation is ongoing, and the police have appealed to community members for any information that may assist in identifying and apprehending the individuals involved.

“We urge anyone with information to come forward and assist us in our investigation,” SP Nguroje said.
