The Adamawa State Government’s implementation of a 70,000 Naira minimum wage has been met with widespread praise for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri from residents and stakeholders.
Many have commended Fintiri for his political will and swift action in increasing wages, especially given the current economic challenges facing the country.
Mahdi Abubakar Abba, a local resident, described the move as “excellent” and praised the governor for his “rare capacity” in implementing the policy.
He also expressed hope that all civil servants would benefit from the increase and that the calculations for consequential adjustments for higher-ranking officials were accurate.
Ruth Gani, another resident, added that the decision was “absolutely fantastic” and highlighted the importance of the increase given the rising cost of living in Nigeria.
She praised Governor Fintiri for his understanding of the financial struggles faced by many families in Adamawa State.
