Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army have arrested a wanted kidnapping suspect in Wukari LGA of Taraba State during an operation under Operation Zafin Wuta.
The confirmation was made on 23 November 2025 in a statement by Lt. Umar Muhammad, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations.
The suspect, Umar Musa Geyi, was apprehended on 22 November after troops acted on credible intelligence at Jandei-Kulamu.
According to the Army, Geyi is believed to be a key member of a syndicate responsible for multiple kidnappings across the area.

Preliminary findings linked him to the abduction of Alhaji Jano, a Fulani resident kidnapped on 13 November 2025.
Troops intercepted the suspect during a phone call in which he reportedly confirmed the victim was still in captivity and demanded a โฆ20 million ransom.
The Army said the suspect is currently undergoing further interrogation as efforts intensify to locate and rescue the victim safely.
Commander of 6 Brigade, Brig.-Gen. Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops and reaffirmed the Brigadeโs determination to โdismantle criminal networks and restore peace across Taraba State.โ
He urged residents to stay vigilant and provide timely information to security agencies.
