The Nigerian military has handed over 350 persons rescued during a 10-day operation in sambisa forest and handed them over to Borno state government for rehabilitation.
Maj-Gen Waheeb Sahabi, the Theatre Commander, Operation Hadin Kai stated this while handing over the victims to the officials of Borno State government at Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri on Monday.
He said the troops took the operation to Sambisa forest to rescue the abducted persons and clear the remnant of Boko haram insurgent in the area.
Sahibu who was represented by his Deputy Maj. Gen. Kenneth Chigbu said the 350 rescued persons consisted of six adults, 135 women and 209 children respectively.

“We witnessed yet another significant milestone recorded by the joint task force’s northeast operation Hadin Kai under the able leadership commander TC.
“For the past 10 days troops of the Joint Task Force comprising Army, Airforce, Naval, and other security operatives have been in the Sambisa Forest on clearance operations.
The people we handed today totalling 350 persons, six adult male; 135 female, and 209 children were found in the Sambisa Forest.
“This effort is the demonstration of professionalism exhibited by the Joint Task Force so obviously the people you are here were kept in the Sambisa Forest against their wishes.” He revealed.
He thanked the Borno State Government and other International community for their support during the clearance operation in the Sambisa Forest.
