Army Headquarters’ Department of Army Transformation and Innovation held a “Lessons Learned” seminar for officers and soldiers of Operation Hadin Kai at the officers’ mess, Maimalari Cantonment, on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
Major General OS Abai, Chief of Transformation and Innovation, stated that the seminar, themed “Lesson Learned Process/Feedback Mechanism”, aimed to enhance operational effectiveness through the application of Nigerian Army processes.
“The purpose of the seminar is to enlighten troops of 7 Division to enhance operational effectiveness,” he said.
The theme aligns with the Chief of Army Staff’s (COAS) command philosophy of consolidating the Nigerian Army’s transformation into a motivated and combat-ready force.

Lieutenant General OO Oluyede, COAS, represented by Major General Waidi Shuaibu, Theatre Commander North East Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, declared the seminar open.
“I am particularly glad to see that the target audience for the seminar are junior and middle cadre of the Nigerian Army,” General Oluyede said.
He also added that the seminar is intended to mitigate challenges faced by troops in a complex security environment.
General Oluyede pledged to continuously review tactics and procedures to develop effective strategies.
“The place of lessons learned is key to operational effectiveness,” he emphasised.
The seminar aimed to improve the capacity of Nigerian Army personnel to draw lessons from operational engagements.
The event concluded with the presentation of gifts and awards to the COAS and the theatre commander, followed by a group photograph with participants.
