The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has threatened a nationwide strike to protest the absence of governing councils in all federal universities across the country.
ASUU President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, who issued the threat during a press briefing at the association national headquarters in Abuja, on Tuesday, said the federal government has refused to appoint university governing councils since May of last year when it dissolved the Councils.
He urged Nigerians to demand accountability from the government for any actions it takes in response to the governmentโs decision.
