Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed his condolences to the government and people of Bauchi State, particularly the Ningi Emirate, over the passing of their Emir, Alhaji Yunusa Danyaya.
In a statement on X, formerly Twitter, Atiku described the late Emir as a symbol of pride for his people, noting that he had a long and impactful reign.
He prayed that Allah accepts the Emir’s soul into paradise and grants the community the fortitude to bear the loss.
The Emir’s demise was met with widespread grief, and Atiku’s message of condolence is one of many pouring in from across the country.
The Emir of Ningi, Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya, passed away on August 25, 2024.
He was the longest-reigning Emir, having ascended to the throne in 1978.
