Bago Donates 40-Seater Bus to Niger Tornadoes FC

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago on Friday presented a new 40-seater bus to Niger Tornadoes Football Club, pledging continued support for sports development in the state.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by Bologi Ibrahim, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Niger State, on Friday, September 12, 2025.

The presentation took place at Government House Minna, where Bago also received the state contingent that competed at the recently concluded 9th National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State. 

Niger finished 13th overall with 11 medals, including gold in handball, weightlifting, boxing, and scrabble.

โ€œThis administration will continue to support sporting activities in Niger State. We will also honour our athletes and officials at a later date,โ€ Bago said.

Chairman of the Niger State Sports Commission, Danjuma Abdullahi Masun, who received the bus on behalf of the team, praised the governorโ€™s gesture. 

โ€œThe bus will solve logistical problems for the Tornadoes and boost playersโ€™ morale. The governorโ€™s commitment to sports is remarkable,โ€ he said.

The stateโ€™s athletes also won two silver medals in weightlifting and one each in taekwondo and judo, alongside three bronze medals in tennis, kickboxing, and Scrabble.
