Armed bandits have abducted at least 30 women and girls from the Chacho community in the Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State following a night attack on Saturday.

The victims include a bride and her bridesmaids, kidnapped only hours before the planned wedding ceremony.

One resident was reportedly injured during the invasion.

The incident was first reported on Sunday, November 30, 2025, by security analyst Bakatsine on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), in a report subsequently published by Daily Post Nigeria.

Bakatsine detailed the shattering disruption to the community.

“Last night, bandits invaded the Chacho community in the Wurno LGA of Sokoto State.

They injured one person and abducted at least 30 women and girls, including a bride and her bridesmaids, during the invasion,” Bakatsine wrote.

The security analyst lamented the ongoing crisis, questioning how much pain ordinary families must endure.

“A day meant for joy and celebration was shattered as bandits stormed and inflicted wounds. How much more pain must ordinary families endure before they find safety?”

As of the time of filing this report, state authorities are yet to release an official statement regarding the attack and the rescue efforts.
