Despite an early lead by Team Borno, Bauchi rallied to secure a narrow win.

Borno dominated the first quarter, leading 13-7. However, Bauchi fought back in the second and third quarters, taking the lead 23-20.

They maintained their momentum through the remaining quarters, ultimately winning the match 43-37.

Ibrahim Mohammed, coach of the Borno State basketball team, attributed the loss to a lapse in concentration.

“Due to overconfidence, our players lost concentration,” Coach Mohammed explained.

“Team Bauchi used the opportunity before we regained our composure. Even though I can proudly say we gave them a good fight, Insha Allah, we will prepare and have better control next time.”
