In a move aimed at accelerating development across the state, Bauchi Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, signed six bills into law on Tuesday.

The newly enacted laws include:

1. Sa’adu Zungur University Bill 2024
2. Bauchi State Farmers and Herders Board Law
3. Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Board Law
4. Bauchi State Rural Access Road Law
5. Bauchi State Children’s Access to Basic Education Law
6.A Law to Establish the Border Communities Development Agency 2024

The Governor, after signing the Bills, explained that the legislation is designed to create jobs, improve access to education, and enhance security for residents in both rural and urban areas.

He commended the cordial working relationship between the executive and legislative branches, highlighting the State House of Assembly’s thorough examination of the bills.

The Speaker of the Bauchi state House of assembly, Hon. Abubakar Y. Sulaiman, echoed the Governor’s sentiments. He emphasized the careful consideration given to each bill and its potential positive impact on the lives of Bauchi residents, particularly regarding job creation. 

Hon Sulaiman urged continued public support for the administration, crediting the existing infrastructure and development projects to the collaborative efforts of the legislature and executive.
