Traditional rulers and community leaders were also present.

Speaking at the gathering, Governor Mohammed acknowledged the rising tensions, attributing them partly to demographic changes and limited access to land.

โ€œWe are committed to promoting peaceful coexistence and ensuring every citizen has the opportunity to thrive,โ€ he said.

โ€œAllocating these lands is one of many steps we are taking.โ€

The event provided a platform for both farmers and herders to air grievances and propose solutions.

The governor emphasised that only dialogue and inclusive policies can prevent further loss of lives and livelihoods.

Commissioner of Police Aliyu reaffirmed the security agencies’ readiness to support the peace initiative. โ€œEveryone has a role to play in achieving lasting peace,โ€ he said.

โ€œNo crime will be ignored, and the police are fully committed to ensuring safety across the state.โ€
