Bauchi Police Announce Inaugural National Police Day with Week-Long Community Events

The Bauchi State Police Command has announced the inaugural National Police Day, to be observed annually on April 7th, with a week-long series of community engagement programmes from April 2nd to 7th, 2025.

The initiative, as explained by CSP Ahmed Wakil, the Command’s ppro, is in a statement is in response to a presidential directive, aims to honour the dedication of police officers and strengthen community relations.

Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, invites all community members to participate in the events.

Planned activities include:

  • Town Hall Meeting: A dialogue session with community leaders, traditional rulers, and government representatives to discuss security concerns and improve police-public cooperation.
  • Sanitation and Cleanup: A joint initiative with the Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency (BASEPA) to clean public areas like the Central Market, Muda Lawal Market, and Yelwa Campus.
  • Free Medical Service Outreach: The command will offer free medical services to community members, highlighting its humanitarian role.
  • School Outreach: Educational programmes in schools and public spaces to address the dangers of cultism, violence, sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), and other social vices.
  • Walkathon: A walkathon to promote fitness and build police-community partnerships.

CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu emphasised the command’s commitment to safety, public trust, and community well-being.
