Bauchi Police Arrest 30 Year-Old Man for Impersonating Nigerian Army

The Bauchi State Police Command has announced the arrest of Aminu Mohammed, a 30-year-old man from Magaji Quarters, Bauchi, for impersonating Nigerian Army personnel.

According to a statement by SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, Police Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State Command the suspect was apprehended on July 22, 2024, after a complaint was filed against him.

The statement also revealed that, Mohammed collected N210,000 from an unsuspecting individual, promising to secure a job in the Nigerian Army.

He also directed the victim to meet his friend, currently at large, to facilitate entry into the military training school in Zaria.

Preliminary investigations reveal that Mohammed had never served or worked with the military. He obtained a pair of camouflage trousers from a serving military personnel, which he used to deceive his victims.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, has ordered a discreet investigation at the state criminal investigation department to uncover more facts and aid in prosecution.
