Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a dismissed Nigerian Army personnel, L/Cpl Aliyu Adamu, for impersonation, cheating, and criminal breach of trust.
Adamu, from Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, collected N200,000 from three individuals with promises of securing jobs for them in the Nigerian Army. However, he failed to deliver, leaving the victims without the promised employment opportunities.
During interrogation, Adamu admitted to being dismissed from the army for absenteeism and using the collected funds for personal purposes.
Commissioner of Police CP Auwal Musa Mohammed cautioned the public to be vigilant against such fraudulent schemes, urging individuals to report suspicious activities to prevent falling prey.
The suspect will face court charges upon completion of the investigation, serving as a deterrent to potential scammers.
