Police in Bauchi State have arrested a 50-year-old man, Umar Alh. Sule, for allegedly raping his 17-year-old biological daughter multiple times, resulting in her three-month pregnancy.

According to a statement issued by CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, Bauchi Police Public Relations Officer, the Command received a complaint on April 3, 2025, from one Abdullahi Baban Karatu, 55, from Kurmin Ado village in Ganjuwa Local Government Area, who reported the alleged crime.

The complaint, the incidents occurred in November 2024 when the victim’s mother was away visiting her parents in Burra village.

Police detectives were assigned to investigate the report and subsequently arrested the accused, Umar Alh. Sule.

During questioning, the suspect reportedly confessed to having sexual intercourse with his daughter on several occasions.

A medical examination confirmed the victim was three months pregnant.

The victim corroborated her father’s confession, stating that he took advantage of her mother’s absence to repeatedly assault her in their matrimonial bedroom.

She revealed the pregnancy to her mother upon her return, identifying her father as responsible.

The Commissioner of Police for Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has directed that the case be charged to court upon the completion of the ongoing investigation.
