The Bauchi State Police Command has announced the arrest of a 20-year-old man, Usama Mohammed, in connection with an armed robbery incident in Giade Local Government Area.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the suspect was apprehended by detectives from the Giade Divisional Police Headquarters following a distress call from a victim on August 2, 2024.
The victim reported that four armed robbers, carrying knives and cutlasses, invaded their home around 9:40 PM and stole two mobile phones valued at N105,000.
The suspect, Usama Mohammed, was arrested at the scene, while the other members of his gang remain at large.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, has ordered the transfer of the case to the State CID for further investigation. Efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend the remaining suspects.
The police command assured the public of their commitment to safeguarding lives and property and urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
