According to the statement, a flat-topped truck trailer (registration number BAG 283 XF) on April 30, 2025, at approximately 5:00 PM.

The truck was carrying over one thousand 25-kilogram bags of iodised salt, with an estimated value of ten million, two hundred thousand Naira (โ‚ฆ10,200,000).

The PPRO stated that while the driver of the truck fled the scene, two suspects, Sadik Jidda, 20, from Borno State, and Ibrahim Ahmad, 19, from Kaduna State, were apprehended.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspects claimed to be conductors and were only informed of their destination in Alkaleri, Bauchi State, by the driver.

Ali was apprehended during a routine patrol by officers from the Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters, in collaboration with local security outfits.
