A bomb blast in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State has claimed two lives and injured four others, just hours after an unexploded ordnance was safely recovered in Dikwa.
According to a statement from the Borno State Police Command, the unexploded ordnance was discovered by a farmer, Babagana Kachalla, on his land in Dikwa.
Police Public Relations Officer ASP Kenneth Nahum Daso said that after Kachalla alerted authorities, a team was deployed by Commissioner of Police Naziru Abdulmajid.
The team identified the object as a 2.2-meter-long cluster bomb unit, which was successfully secured without any casualties.
