The highly anticipated Babagana Kalli Ozogola FA Cup 2025, organised by the Borno State Football Club Owners Association, is set to kick off on October 29, 2025.
The start date and finalised preparations were confirmed today by Abubakar Abdulazeez, the Strategic Planning Committee Chairman.
The tournament is being hailed as a major historic event aimed at fostering grassroots development in the region.
Mr Abdulazeez clarified that the preliminary matches will be hosted across multiple centres statewide, ensuring widespread participation.
“This is not just another competition but a significant event that will encourage the development of football right from the grassroots,” Mr Abdulazeez said.
He added that the Association is committed to youth engagement: “We will continue to complement the efforts of the Borno State Government by engaging and encouraging our youths in viable football programmes.”
The FA Cup, which includes clubs from across the state, will now enter the final phase of preparation ahead of the October 29 opening fixtures.
