The Borno State Football Association (FA) recently hosted a one-day seminar for all participating clubs in the State League Division One.
The seminar aimed to educate and update coaches and officials on the latest football regulations and best practices.
The event, held at the Elkanemi Warriors Sports Centre, saw a significant turnout of coaches, assistant coaches, and representatives from nineteen of the twenty-four participating clubs.
The Borno State Council of the Nigerian Referees Association (NRA) was also represented.
Alhaji Babagana Kalli Kachalah Ozogler, Chairman of the Borno State FA, demonstrated his commitment to the development of football in the state by providing financial support to the participating clubs, referees, and the FA itself.
Coach Bulama Mustapha Bukar of Pompomari United, who is also an executive member of the State Club Owners Association, emphasised the unifying power of sports.
“Sports is a tool of unity that brings everyone together, regardless of religion or sentiment. It instills discipline, respect, and commitment, helping young people to stay away from social vices like drug abuse,” said Coach Bukar.
Coach Saidu Hamidu Nasara of FC Samunaka expressed gratitude to the Chairman Ozogler for organising the seminar.

“This seminar will help us minimise errors during matches, as it has updated us on the latest rule changes,” he said.
Mohammed Sabitu Yusuf, Secretary of FC Eagle Star, called on all club representatives to share the knowledge gained from the seminar with their players and supporters to ensure a smooth and incident-free league.
The Borno State League Division One is set to kick off on Monday, November 11th, 2024. This competition is renowned for producing talented young footballers who go on to represent the state and country at higher levels.
