The Borno State female volleyball team is intensifying preparations for the upcoming Zonal Team Sports Elimination Tournament in Taraba State. 
 
The team’s commitment and dedication have been boosted by the support and encouragement from the Commissioner of the Ministry of Youths and Sports Development, Saina Buba.
 
According to Team Secretary Falmata Shettima, the team has been training since the second quarter of the year, and the players were carefully selected to represent the state. 
 
Shettima expressed gratitude to the Borno State government and the Honourable Commissioner, Comrade Saina Buba, for their unwavering support.
 
Coach Jibrin Bukar, also known as Coach JB, stated that the selected players were chosen based on their performance and are ready to represent the state with high spirits. 
 
The team has a reputation for being one of the best participating teams from the North East in the National Youth Games and National Sports Festival games.
 
The Zonal Team Sports Elimination Tournament is scheduled to take place in August 2024, and the qualified teams will proceed to the National Youths Games proper in Delta State later this year.
