The Borno Geographic Information Service (BOGIS) has started paying compensation to over 700 landholders whose property will be impacted by the Maiduguri Ring Road project.
According to a statement released by BOGIS SA Media Halima Abatcha Jarawa, the compensation follows a comprehensive valuation and assessment by the government, adhering to the Land Use Act of 1978 (Sections 28 and 29).

The Maiduguri Ring Road is a large-scale infrastructure project currently in its initial construction phase. The project encompasses the creation of a 113-kilometre ring road that will encircle Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria, aiming to connect the eastern, western, and southern areas of the city.

Construction is being rolled out in phases, with the first phase covering 16.5 kilometres starting from Maiduguri-Kano Road to Maiduguri-Monguno Road via Maiduguri-Gubio Road.
