The Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command, CP Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, today bid farewell to a group of mass communication students from the University of Maiduguri who had completed a six-week internship at the Command Headquarters.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Borno police command PPRO Nahum Daso Kenneth on Friday.
The internship program provided students with hands-on experience in police public relations, crisis communication, and media management.
“I commend the students for their dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm throughout their internship,” CP Yusufu Mohammed Lawal said at a farewell ceremony held at the Command Headquarters.
“I express my appreciation for the partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and the University of Maiduguri, which is mutually beneficial.”
The Commissioner of Police presented complimentary plaques to the students and encouraged them to utilise the knowledge and skills acquired during their internship in their future endeavours.
Amina Amin Rufai, speaking on behalf of the students, expressed their gratitude to the Commissioner of Police and the entire Borno State Police Command for the opportunity to gain practical experience in police public relations and crisis communication.
The farewell ceremony was attended by senior police officers, including Deputy Commissioners of Police and Assistant Commissioners of Police.
