Borno Police Deploy Adequate Security for Lake Chad Basin Governors Forum

The Borno State Police Command has deployed adequate security measures ahead of the 5th Lake Chad Basin Governors Forum, scheduled to take place from January 27th to 31st, 2025.

ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, Police Public Relations Officer, Borno State Police Command, disclosed in a statement on Sunday.

The forum, which brings together governors and other dignitaries from the region, aims to promote regional cooperation and address common challenges, including insecurity, climate change, and socio-economic development.

“To guarantee a secure environment for the forum, the Borno State Police Command has implemented a comprehensive security plan, which includes adequate security deployment, visibility patrol, intelligence gathering, and access/traffic control,” the statement said.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, has assured the public that the Command remains committed to ensuring safety and security for all participants.

“The Command calls on members of the public, especially participants, to cooperate with the police and other security agencies to ensure the success of the forum,” the statement added.
