The Borno State Police Command has arrested three suspects for attempting to kidnap one Mohammed Abubakar in Sabon Gari Lassa, Askira Uba Local Government Area.

According to a statement issued by Nahum Daso Kenneth, the state command spokesman on Friday, the incident occurred on January 21, 2025, when the suspects, armed with a locally made pistol, invaded Mr. Abubakar’s home.

Mr. Abubakar resisted and raised an alarm, causing the suspects to flee.

“Police officers from Uba Police Divisional Headquarters swiftly swung into action and gave the suspects a hot chase, where the suspects were apprehended and one locally made pistol was recovered,” the statement said.

The suspects, identified as Salisu Hussani (25), Umar Bello (23), and Buhari Hussani (27), are currently in custody while the case is under investigation.

The Commissioner of Police commended the officers’ efforts and assured residents of the command’s commitment to fighting crime.

“The Commissioner of Police… warns criminal elements to desist from their nefarious acts or face the full wrath of the law,” the statement added.
