The Borno State Police Command, in partnership with the Borno State Fire Service, has completed a one-day intensive training programme focused on fire safety and prevention.
ASP Nahum Daso Kenneth, Police Public Relations Officer of the Borno State Police Command, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

The training, held on March 25, 2025, at the State Command Headquarters in Maiduguri, was organised in response to the rising number of fire incidents nationwide.
It aimed to equip police officers with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively handle fire emergencies.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer Ahmadu Isa of the Borno State Fire Service facilitated the training, which included both theoretical instruction and practical demonstrations.
Officers learnt about fire extinguishing techniques, including the proper use of fire blankets, water, and fire extinguishers.
“This training is crucial for our officers,” stated CP Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, Commissioner of Police Borno State Command.

“We are grateful to the Borno State Fire Service for their expertise and for providing our officers with this valuable knowledge.”
The training is expected to enhance the police command’s ability to respond to fire incidents and ensure the safety of both officers and the public.
