Borno Police Train Hoteliers, Officers to Strengthen Statewide Security

The Borno State Police Command has conducted a security workshop for hoteliers, area commanders and divisional police officers (DPOs), aimed at improving safety standards across the hospitality sector.

The training was held on Friday, 28 November 2025, according to a statement by ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, Police Public Relations Officer of the Command.

Representing the Commissioner of Police, DCP Garba Audu Bosso urged participants to take the training seriously, noting that hotel security plays a crucial role in overall public safety.

โ€œSecurity is a shared responsibility,โ€ he said.

โ€œEnhancing best practices in hotel security management is vital for preventing threats and ensuring guest safety.โ€

Project Coordinator and convener of the workshop, Barr. Bob James, emphasised the need for hotels to prioritise security. 

He highlighted key areas such as criminal law in hotel operations, civil liabilities, surveillance systems, identification methods, and the use of modern technology for monitoring.

The Command, led by CP Naziru Abdulmajid, reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with stakeholders to promote peace and reinforce security across Borno State.
