Borno Police Train Traffic Wardens to Boost Road Safety, Discipline

The Borno State Police Command has organised an in-house training for its traffic wardens to improve operational efficiency, discipline, and public engagement.

The Commandโ€™s Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, said in a statement on Sunday.

The training, held on October 11 at the Central Motor Traffic Division Headquarters, Dandal, Maiduguri, was conducted under the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid (psc).

According to the statement, the one-day session covered key areas including discipline, safety awareness, accident scene management, public relations, and ethical conduct while on duty.

The Officer-in-Charge of the Division, ASP Aminu Musa, who represented the Commissioner of Police, commended participants for their dedication and urged them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

He cautioned that acts of misconduct would not be tolerated under the current leadership, emphasising that the Commandโ€™s focus remains on ensuring road safety and efficient traffic management across the state.

The Command also appealed to motorists and the general public to cooperate with traffic wardens, especially during the Ember Months when vehicular movement typically increases.
