Borno Police Warn Against Planned Protest

,

The Borno State Police Command has issued a stern warning against planned protests in the state, stating that such actions will not be tolerated.

This is contained in a press release issued on Wednesday by ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the Police Public Relations Officer on behalf of the Commissioner of Police.

The command expressed concern over information about individuals organizing mass protests through social media and other platforms.

While acknowledging the right to peaceful assembly, the police emphasized a history of such protests being hijacked by troublemakers.

Given Borno’s ongoing recovery from over a decade of insurgency and the state of emergency still in place, the command stressed that public processions remain banned.

The police also warned that any attempt to damage critical infrastructure will be considered a terrorist act.

The command assured the public of its readiness to maintain law and order in collaboration with other security agencies. Residents were urged to remain calm and report any suspicious activities.
