Borno State Police Command has welcomed a contingent of police cadets from the Nigeria Police Academy Wudil-Kano, who have arrived for a month-long practical attachment.

The cadets, from Regular Course 7, will immerse themselves in real-world policing duties as part of their training curriculum.

“This is a crucial phase in their development,” stated ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, Police Public Relations Officer for the Borno State Command, in a statement on Tuesday.

“This attachment is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and the realities of policing.”

The month-long exercise, a mandatory component of their academy training, will provide the cadets with hands-on experience in various aspects of police work, enhancing their understanding of their future responsibilities.

“They will be exposed to the core practical duties of a police officer,” Daso explained.

The Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command, CP Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, addressed the cadets upon their arrival, emphasising the importance of dedication and focused learning.

“You are here to learn, to absorb every experience, and to prepare yourselves for the challenges that lie ahead,” CP Lawal urged.

“Focus on the practical aspects of policing; it will serve you well in your careers.”

He further charged them to be of good conduct during their stay in the state. “Remember you are ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Academy; your conduct must reflect the highest standards,” CP Lawal said.

Responding on behalf of the cadets, C/ASP MI Kasim expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and the commissioner’s “fatherly advice.”

“We are deeply appreciative of the opportunity to learn from the experienced officers here in Borno State,” Kasim stated.

“We are committed to absorbing the fundamental principles of policing and to applying them with diligence.”

Kasim assured the commissioner that the cadets would “remain committed to learning and upholding the highest standards of the Nigeria Police Force.”

The Borno State Police Command has pledged to provide the cadets with a comprehensive and enriching training experience.

“We are committed to nurturing the next generation of police officers,”

“Their success is our success.” Daso concluded.
