Skaters in Borno State, under the umbrella of “Maiduguri Skaters”, have called for greater inclusiveness in the Borno State Sports Council.
The athletes and officials of Maiduguri Skaters paid a familiarisation visit to the Executive Secretary of the Borno State Sports Council, Alhaji Bura Mustapha Alesadiyaye, at his office in the Ministry of Youths, Sports Development and Empowerment, Musa Usman Secretariat, Maiduguri on Thursday.

During the visit, which took place on Thursday, the coach of Maiduguri Skaters, Coach Hussaini Musa Said, stated, “The aim of the visit is to present our certificate of participation for a three-day skating championship at the 2nd International Skating Championship titled SKATE-A-THON CALABAR 2025, Calabar South and carnival route in Calabar, Cross River State, from 17th to 19th April 2025. The certificate was presented by the Cross River State Sports Commission.”
Coach Hussaini Musa Said added that the visit was also to “show solidarity, loyalty, and interest, with a call for inclusiveness into the Borno State Sports Council.”
In his response, Alhaji Bura Mustapha Alesadiyaye, the Executive Secretary of the Borno State Sports Council, thanked the skaters for the visit and acknowledged “their efforts and cooperation during the touching of the Unity event which took place earlier this month”.

The Executive Secretary advised the skaters to maintain a high level of organisation, discipline, and respect for others.
Alhaji Bura Mustapha Alesadiyaye assured them that he would forward their request to the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Youth, Sports Development and Empowerment, Comrade Saiina Buba.
The visit concluded with a group photograph featuring the skaters and head coaches from various associations within the Borno State Sports Council.
