Borno Team Heads to 8th National Youth Games in Asaba

Borno State has sent a delegation of athletes to compete in the 8th edition of the National Youth Games, which will be held in Asaba, Delta State. 
 
The National Youth Games will run from September 9th to 19th, 2024.
 
The team will be representing the state in fourteen different sporting events, including hockey, badminton, boxing, beach volleyball, judo, and athletics.

Hajiya Amina Magga, the Acting Executive Secretary of the Borno State Sports Council, commended the efforts of Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum and the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Sports Development, Comrade Saina Buba, for their support of the youth through sports. 

Speaking to the team before their departure at the New Arabic Language Village site (former Sir Kashim College), Magga urged the athletes to give their best and represent the state with pride.

Ismail El Goni, an athlete on the team, echoed this sentiment, calling on the people of Borno State to pray for their success and promising to return with medals.
