Buni Swears in Newly Elected LGA Chairmen in Yobe

In a ceremony held on Tuesday, Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, presided over the swearing-in of newly elected Local Government Council Chairmen.

Governor Buni expressed his gratitude for a peaceful and successful election across the state. He commended the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission for conducting a credible and fair process, ensuring all parties had the opportunity to participate.

The Governor also praised the political parties, candidates, and supporters for their sportsmanship throughout the campaign and election. He highlighted the high voter turnout and congratulated all parties, particularly the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their decisive victory.

Governor Buni emphasized the importance of the new Chairmen working in line with the state’s development agenda. Key priorities include empowering youth, women, and vulnerable groups, while also improving internally generated revenue.

He outlined specific goals for the Chairmen, including promoting transparency, safeguarding government property, and focusing on essential services like security, water, sanitation, healthcare, and agriculture. Collaboration with federal and state governments on development programs was also stressed.

Governor Buni reiterated the state’s commitment to security and appealed to residents to continue supporting the government and security agencies.

He concluded by commending security personnel for maintaining order during the elections and thanking all involved for their contribution to a peaceful and successful democratic process.

The swearing-in ceremony marked the culmination of a successful local government election in Yobe State.
