The visit on Friday, 21 November 2025, was confirmed in a statement by Lt-Col. Appolonia Anele, Acting Director of Army Public Relations.
Lt.-Gen. Shaibu praised the injured troops for what he described as their โcourage and sacrifice in defending the nation.โ
He assured them that the Nigerian Army would continue to provide full medical support. โYour recovery remains our priority, and you will receive the best possible care,โ he added.
Recalling his own time as a patient in the same hospital after being wounded in action, the COAS said he understands the challenges the soldiers face.
He expressed confidence in the hospitalโs management and urged the troops to follow their prescribed treatments.
He also commended the Medical Director, Brig.-Gen. Godwin Ogoh, and the hospital staff for their professionalism and service.
The Army Chief, accompanied by senior officers, toured the facility to assess ongoing improvements.
Continuing his operational tour, Lt.-Gen. Shaibu later visited Headquarters Sub-Sector 4 along the KadunaโAbuja Highway, where he interacted with troops and reviewed their readiness and morale.
