General Idris noted that the visit aimed to “assess the current state of operational activities, reinforce inter-agency collaboration, and identify opportunities for improving the overall effectiveness of counterterrorism and anti-banditry efforts across the region.”
He specifically praised the “professionalism and coordination displayed by troops,” which include personnel from various security agencies involved in the ongoing OPFY operations. General Idris lauded the troops’ “resilience and dedication,” particularly given the challenging terrain and complex security threats they face daily.
He urged them to maintain their current tempo and stressed the importance of enhanced coordination among all security agencies and relevant stakeholders to maximise operational efficiency.
The Theatre Commander, Major General Oluyinka Soyele, expressed his appreciation for the DHQ Teamโs visit, calling it a “vital step towards strengthening field operations.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining operational effectiveness, highlighting the importance of motivating troops and fostering seamless collaboration among all security stakeholders.
