Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aishatu Jibir Dukku Jas, commended Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for his commitment to promoting girl-child education in the state.
Dukku made the commendation of Governor Yahaya’s efforts during the opening ceremony of a 5-day school-based management committee training of master trainers held at the Gombe State University.
“Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s administration since inception has been focusing attention on the education sector through various policies and programs to reposition the sector,” Hon. Dukku said.
“The education of the girl child is a collective responsibility, and therefore I urge stakeholders to support the initiatives of Governor Inuwa Yahaya in achieving success in that regard.”
Honourable Commissioner for Education, Prof. Aishatu Umar Maigari, highlighted the state government’s participation in the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project, attributing it to Governor Yahaya’s political will.
“Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, out of his commitment to girl child education, made a passionate appeal to the World Bank for the total overhaul of the existing 8 girls schools under the AGILE Project,” Prof. Maigari said.
Dr. Ishiyaku Babayo Ibrahim, Special Adviser on Donor Partners Coordination, emphasised Governor Yahaya’s keen interest in the successful implementation of the AGILE Project.
The training program, organised by Homesmith Engineering Limited in collaboration with the Gombe State AGILE Project, aims to equip participants with the necessary skills to effectively implement the project’s objectives.
