The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Kaduna Zonal Directorate, has apprehended Saifullahi Ismail for alleged involvement in employment fraud.
Ismail, a technician with Kaduna Electric Distribution Company, was arrested on April 30, 2025, at Abakpa New Extension in Kaduna, following credible intelligence, according to the EFCC.
The EFCC reports that Ismail and an accomplice, Halima Yakubu Ngulde, are suspected of defrauding job seekers by promising them placements in various government agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the EFCC.
Ngulde was previously arrested in November 2024, but Ismail had been evading arrest.
The EFCC stated that a forged letter of employment, purportedly from the EFCC, was among the items recovered from Ismail.
The suspect will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
