Nasarawa State Police Command has assured residents of tight security during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
Commissioner of Police CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed extended Eid greetings and urged prayers for national peace.
“To ensure a safe and secure celebration, the Command has implemented comprehensive security measures,” said SP Ramhan Nansel, Police Public Relations Officer, Nasarawa State Command.
Over 4,000 police personnel have been deployed across the state. Eid prayer grounds and recreational centres will receive increased security.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit will conduct pre-prayer sweeps of Eid grounds. Traffic wardens and highway patrols will also be active.
Undercover operatives are deployed to gather intelligence and prevent threats.
The CP Mohammed urged residents to be vigilant and report suspicious activity.
“Any suspicious activity or individuals should be promptly reported to the nearest police station,” said SP Nansel.
