El-Kanemi Warriors secured a vital 1-0 victory over Nasarawa United in a closely contested Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) match on Saturday.

The only goal of the game came in the 29th minute when Al-Amin Umar capitalized on an opportunity to give the home side the lead.

Nasarawa United mounted a strong challenge in the second half, with Anas Yusuf, Garba Abubakar, and Idris Ajayi creating several dangerous attacks.

However, the Warriors’ defense held firm, and goalkeeper Abine George made several crucial saves to preserve the lead.

“It was a must-win match, but we still have work to do,” said Coach Aliyu Zubairu after the match.

“We will make some tactical and technical adjustments to strengthen our game as we move forward.”

The victory propelled the desert Warriors to fourth place in the league table. They will next face a tough test against Kano Pillars in an away match on Wednesday.
