El-Kanemi Warriors Edge Wikki Tourists 2–1 in Maiduguri

El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club of Maiduguri defeated Wikki Tourists of Bauchi 2–1 in a thrilling Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Week Nine encounter played at the Elkanemi Warriors Sports Centre, Maiduguri.

The home side displayed dominant ball possession with their trademark tiki-taka style, creating multiple scoring opportunities from the onset.

Their efforts paid off early when Jonas opened the scoring in the 7th minute to give El-Kanemi Warriors the lead.

Samaila doubled the advantage in the 35th minute, putting the hosts firmly ahead. However, Wikki Tourists pulled one back just before halftime to keep the game alive.

Both sides made tactical substitutions in the second half, introducing key players including Salisu Ibrahim and Risalanu Ismail, but neither team was able to find the back of the net again. Despite five minutes of added time, the scoreline remained unchanged.

The result secures all three points for El-Kanemi Warriors, strengthening their position in the NPFL standings.

Meanwhile, in other NPFL fixtures, FC Barau defeated Kano Pillars 2–1 at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kofar Mata, while Warri Wolves claimed victory over Enyimba FC of Aba.
