El-Kanemi Warriors have returned home to a hero’s welcome after securing a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Federation Cup. 
 
The team’s 1-0 victory over the Shooting Stars marks their first quarterfinal appearance in 25 years. 
 
The Commissioner for Sports, Youth Development, and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Saina Buba, celebrated their achievement, praising the players’ dedication and teamwork. 
 
In recognition of their success, he awarded the team a cash reward of N1 million for the players and N500,000 for the technical crew.
 
Head Coach Aliyu Zubuiru expressed his gratitude to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for his ongoing support and commended Hon. Buba for his encouragement and generosity. 
 
“We are incredibly motivated by this warm welcome and appreciation,” said Zubuiru. “It fuels our determination to bring the Federation Cup trophy back to Borno State.”
