The Network of Civil Society Organizations in Borno State (NECSOB) has expressed concern over the ongoing protests in the state, calling for citizens to remain law-abiding and avoid causing mayhem.

In a press statement, NECSOB’s Executive Director, Comr. Bulama Abiso, highlighted the alarming number of deaths reported since the protests began.

The organization urged citizens to identify and report hoodlums exploiting the protests to the authorities and comply with the statewide curfew.

NECSOB also appealed to security operatives to operate with decorum and adhere to legal standards, cautioning against excessive force.

The group demanded an investigation into the destruction of properties and incidents of killings and shootings.

The organization emphasized the need for dialogue and calm to prevent further loss of lives and properties, stressing that the responsibility to protect and build the state lies with its citizens.

The NECSOB concluded with a unified call for peace and cooperation to ensure the safety and stability of Borno State.
