The Federal Ministry of Sports Development has announced new dates for the zonal elimination of the 8th National Youth Games, which will now take place from August 28 to September 1, 2024, in the six geopolitical zones.
 
Registration of athletes and officials will commence on August 24, 2024.
 
The new dates were confirmed following the return of top officials from the Paris 2024 Olympics.
 
The Northeast Punchline reports that initial dates were postponed due to nationwide protests that occurred from August 1 to 10, 2024, as reported by the Northeast Punchline.
 
Participating states will compete in eight sports: baseball, basketball, cricket, hockey, football, handball, volleyball, and rugby.
